# HUD templates and layout

FlyHUD 1.1.0 includes **eight production templates on Mac**, in this order. **iPhone includes seven**, with Follow omitted:

* **Power** — current power, FTP intensity, speed, training state, and optional grade distribution.
* **Follow (Mac only)** — broadcast telemetry and followed-rider labeling with separate camera-rider and followed-rider data.
* **Race** — gradient power/heart-rate bars, speed/cadence, a full route map, and an optional lap card.
* **Zwift** — cycling data, ride statistics, upcoming grade, route map, and configured nearby riders.
* **MyWhoosh** — ride data, map, configured nearby riders, bottom statistics, and its own shifting/device card.
* **Climb** — climb progress, grade, remaining distance/ascent, power, heart rate, altitude, and VAM when available.
* **Descent** — speed, route, distance, grade, and elevation for descending footage.
* **Running** — pace, distance, elapsed activity time, heart rate, step cadence, ascent, and route.

Power is the initial default. The default-template preference applies to newly imported videos; it does not replace existing video settings. Text and Speed are retired from the selector but remain compatible with saved Mac projects.

Professional templates provide supported element visibility, card-group movement, size, opacity, and layout controls. They do not offer an unrestricted component designer. Internal geometry keeps values with different digit counts stable. Whole-activity missing metrics are hidden; fixed slots may show a dash for local gaps, while recorded zeros remain zero.

### Race and laps

Race has adjustable power and heart-rate bar ranges, an optional second speed unit, and independently movable/scalable regions. Route range and the selected start/finish flag affect the map only; they do not automatically detect laps.

The lap card is **off by default**. Enable it in HUD display content, then open its lap configuration. FIT lap records or successfully synchronized Strava laps supply the boundaries; Health activities do not create invented laps.

* Choose zero to six statistics: speed, power, heart rate, grade, distance, and cadence.
* Show zero to three completed laps alongside the current lap; zero shows the current lap only.
* Short-lap filtering starts enabled at ten seconds; adjust the threshold from one to sixty seconds or disable it. Filtering changes display, not the original records.
* Select consecutive laps and save a custom group name of up to forty characters. Groups belong to the video, so the same activity can have different groups in different videos.
* Locate a lap start when it lies within the video's export range. Current-lap averages only use data observed up to the current playback time; completed-lap summaries use available recorded values.

Displayed lap numbers become consecutive after filtering; configuration can also show the original number. Hidden laps keep their original data and group associations. Configuration and groups are frozen with exports.

### Aspect ratios and safe areas

FlyHUD supplies layouts for landscape, portrait, square, and ultrawide videos. Review the preview after changing templates. Safe-area/grid overlays and selection handles are editing aids and are not exported. On iPhone, use the HUD panel and canvas gestures to move or scale supported whole cards.

### Batch synchronization

On Mac, select multiple videos to copy HUD choice, visible elements, scale, opacity, and compatible layout overrides from the current video. Each target aspect ratio keeps its default layout when there is no matching override. Data relationships and time calibration are separate options. iPhone uses independent single-video drafts and does not provide this batch workflow.
