# Privacy Policy

Updated: October 3, 2026

This policy describes information handling in FlyHUD for macOS and iOS. Available data sources and features depend on your installed version.

### Data and Purposes

FlyHUD processes videos, FIT / GPX / CSV activity files, Strava activities, project or draft settings, and rider parameters you select or enter. Data may include activity titles, dates and times, location and routes, distance, elevation, speed, power, heart rate, cycling or running cadence, grade and laps. The app uses these to align video and activity time, display dashboards and routes, calculate dashboard metrics, and render videos or Live Photos locally.

On iOS, with your permission, FlyHUD can read workouts and related metrics and routes from Apple Health for the activity you select. You can manage access in system Health permissions. The photo picker imports only selected videos; saving videos or Live Photos requests add-only photo permission, which does not provide full photo-library read or delete access.

### Strava Authorization and Network Access

No FlyHUD account is required. To use Strava, authorize access to your own activities, including non-public activities within the granted scope, and select an activity. Current versions exchange, refresh and revoke authorization directly with Strava over HTTPS and read activity details, streams and available laps. iOS may use the Strava app for authorization, with system web authorization as a fallback. Older versions may still use an authorization broker; activity telemetry is read directly by the app.

User tokens are stored in the device Keychain, isolated by app identity, and are not written to projects or drafts. Current versions distribute app-level authorization configuration in the installation package; this is distinct from user tokens. Strava handles authorization, API requests and associated usage information under its own privacy policy and API terms. FlyHUD does not upload source videos, local activity files, projects or activity telemetry to developer servers, use third-party advertising or user analytics SDKs, or sell personal data. Update checks access a public release manifest; purchases and transaction verification use Apple services.

### Local Storage and File Access

macOS uses the App Sandbox and files or directories you select and authorize. Projects retain Strava activity and owner references rather than indefinitely storing activity titles or telemetry in project metadata. Telemetry may be stored separately in a local cache: its seven-day validity is checked when read, and expired data is deleted at that read and fetched again when needed. Valid cached data can support offline preview and export. This is not a background deletion timer; a disk file may remain while the app is not running or not reading that cache.

iOS stores imported video copies, draft settings and local activity files in its app container. Strava drafts retain activity and athlete IDs and a generic display name, without a persistent cache of Strava activity titles or telemetry sequences. Closing the editor releases current Strava telemetry; reopening a draft or exporting requires fetching fresh activity data. App export files and media saved to Photos or Files can retain dashboard data and are not seven-day telemetry caches.

### Withdrawing Access and Deletion

Disconnect on the app’s Strava screen, or revoke access directly in [Strava settings](https://www.strava.com/settings/apps) without purchasing FlyHUD. In the currently released iOS 1.1.0, in-app disconnect may be blocked by trial or purchase status, and Settings has no separate cleanup entry. If affected, revoke access on Strava, then delete local drafts or contact support. The fix removing that purchase restriction and adding a separate Settings cleanup entry has not yet been released and is not a capability of the current version. A successful in-app workflow revokes remote access and removes local Strava links, caches on macOS, and Keychain tokens. Original videos, local activity files and saved exports are kept. A remote revocation failure displays an error and retains credentials for retry; local cleanup failures also display errors and must not be treated as complete deletion. If an older version cannot disconnect, revoke access in [Strava settings](https://www.strava.com/settings/apps) and contact support for local cleanup.

The app has no background service receiving Strava deletion or revocation events. Remote changes are recognized only on subsequent network access; offline caches, current in-memory previews and frozen export jobs are not guaranteed to update immediately. Saved or shared exports are not remotely erased. You can delete macOS data sources or projects, iOS drafts, and exports in Photos or Files. Draft deletion does not delete original media or copies outside the container. Uninstalling is not a guarantee of removing external exports or Keychain authorization.

For deletion requests, cleanup verification or revocation failures, contact the private email below. Support replies based on the data actually accessible and the result of the requested action. This policy does not claim that background deletion synchronization within 48 hours, automatic deletion of every copy, or automatic written deletion confirmation is implemented.

### Export and Sharing

Export embeds activity metrics and potentially route or health information into your selected video or Live Photo. When you choose to save, share or upload the result, recipients can see data in the rendered image; copies are subject to the destination’s privacy rules and your settings. Check private activities, home locations, routes, health metrics and other people’s images before sharing. FlyHUD cannot recall shared copies. This describes actual behavior and does not represent Strava approval of every export, sharing or monetization use.

### In-App Purchases

On macOS 1.3.0 and iOS 1.3.0, FlyHUD offers a 30-day full-feature trial counted from the original claim date. Updating, restoring purchases, reinstalling, or switching devices does not restart the trial. Earlier app versions retain their existing 7-day limit until updated. Lifetime Unlock remains a one-time purchase. Import, editing and export are restricted after trial expiry; browsing and draft deletion remain available. Access can still be revoked on Strava; the iOS 1.1.0 in-app limitation is described above. Apple processes purchases through the App Store and StoreKit; the developer does not receive or store payment-card information.

### Children, Updates and Contact

FlyHUD is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Material policy changes will be reflected on this page.
